Welcome Wagon Home Page

We are an active social club of over 900 members. We were established in 1989 as a non profit organization, our mission is to meet the needs of new residents of Nevada County who would like to meet people, make new friends and learn more about this wonderful area in which we live. Our Board of Directors is composed of active members elected annually by the membership, and we operate under our own by-laws.

Membership - Membership is open to all new residents who have lived for two years or less in the areas of Grass Valley, Nevada City, Cedar Ridge, Chicago Park, Penn Valley, Rough & Ready, and Smartville. Also eligible is any person who has been divorced within the past year or whose spouse has died within the past year. For additional information and/or a membership application click here. All Member Events - We offer special meetings planned around luncheons and dinners that are held throughout the year featuring guest speakers, dinner dances and picnics. These take place at various restaurants and other venues in the Grass Valley, Nevada City and Penn Valley areas... a wonderful way to meet people and get to know the area.

Activity Groups - Welcome Wagon has over 20 group activities to choose from, or if none fit your interest, we encourge you to start one that does! Most groups meet once per month, a few meet more frequently, and some are seasonal activities. Listed below are the activity groups currently operating. Newsletter - WelcomeWagon members publish a monthly newsletter, "Nugget News", listing the schedule for club activities and events, and more. Members can elect to receive a printed copy mailed to them, or a password protected on-line edition which can be downloaded and printed.
