Membership is open to all new residents who have lived for two years or less in the areas of Grass Valley Nevada City, Cedar Ridge, Chicago Park, Penn Valley, Rough & Ready, and Smartville. Also eligible is any person who has been divorced within the past year or whose spouse has died within the past year.

New members must pay dues before attending their first Welcome Wagon sponsored event. Only members whose dues are paid are considered to be in good standing. Participation in activity groups is open only to members. Guests may attend general meetings and social events. Single membership entitles one person to participate in club events and activities. Family membership entitles persons living under the same roof to participate in club events and activities. The Welcome Wagon Club of the Gold Country does not discriminate against either prospective or current members because of race, color, creed, national origin, sex, income status, martial status, sexual orientation, or educational background.
